1. Overview

Woodhead’s Law Practice ("Practice") operates the website at www.halimawoodhead.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Practice collects through this website, how the Practice uses it, and your rights with respect to it.

This Policy does not govern information shared with the Practice in the course of an attorney-client relationship. Information shared by clients in connection with legal representation is protected by attorney-client privilege and the Rules of Professional Conduct governing attorney confidentiality, not by this Policy.

2. Information Collected

The Practice collects information you voluntarily provide through the website contact form, including:

  • Your name

  • Your email address

  • Your phone number (if provided)

  • The content of your message

The Practice may also collect basic technical information automatically when you visit the site, such as your browser type, device type, and general geographic location, through standard website analytics tools (such as those provided by Squarespace). This information is collected in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.

3. How the Practice Uses Your Information

The Practice uses the information you submit through the contact form to:

  • Respond to your inquiry

  • Determine whether the Practice is able to assist you

  • Conduct a conflicts-of-interest check before agreeing to any representation

The Practice does not use your information for marketing purposes without your consent. The Practice does not sell your information to third parties.

4. No Attorney-Client Relationship

Submitting a contact form or sending an email does not create an attorney-client relationship. Please do not include sensitive, confidential, or privileged information in any message until an attorney-client relationship has been formally established in writing.

5. How the Practice Shares Your Information

The Practice does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The Practice may share it only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: The website is hosted by Squarespace, which processes data on the Practice’s behalf subject to its own privacy policy. The Practice may use email or calendar tools that similarly process contact information in the ordinary course of responding to inquiries.

  • Legal requirements: The Practice may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or applicable rules of professional conduct.

  • Professional responsibility: The Practice’s attorney is subject to the Rules of Professional Conduct of the states of North Carolina and New York. In rare circumstances, those rules may require or permit disclosure of certain information.

6. Data Retention

The Practice retains contact form submissions and related correspondence for a minimum of seven (7) years, consistent with professional record-keeping obligations. If no attorney-client relationship results from your inquiry, the Practice will retain only the information necessary to document that the Practice conducted a conflicts check.

7. Security

The Practice takes reasonable precautions to protect information submitted through this website. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. The Practice cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted electronically.

8. Cookies and Analytics

The website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies through Squarespace to understand how visitors use the site. You may be able to control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect your experience on the site.

The Practice does not use cookies to track you across third-party websites or for targeted advertising.

9. Third-Party Links

The website may contain links to third-party websites. The Practice is not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourages you to review their privacy policies independently.

AI Policy

Woodhead’s Law Practice uses generative AI tools to assist with legal research, drafting, and other tasks where appropriate and with the client's express written permission (“opt out” option available in the terms of engagement). All legal advice and work product is reviewed, verified, and approved by a licensed attorney: AI never replaces attorney judgment. The Practice takes care to avoid inputting confidential client information into AI tools without the client's informed consent and appropriate safeguards in place.

The Practice also uses AI to assist with non-legal administrative tasks associated with running a small business, such as drafting internal documents and communications. Client information is not used for these purposes.
